All the President's men and Watergate Scandal Similarities

All the president's men was a movie based on the two young men who worked for the Washington Post, and investigated the Watergate Scandal. All though Hollywood made it seem very dramatic and mysterious, the movie was accurate with the historical events that happened. This movie was made just 2 years after the whole things happened so it made it easier for the directors and producers to get things accurate, and not have to go back in time to try to find authenticity.

All the President's men does a good job of showing how Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein called and interviewed people, and the way that they took notes on their notepads to keep track of their information.

The movie All the President's men also does a good job of showing all the hassle and problems that the two journalist ran into, instead of just showing everything that went the right way for them. In the Watergate scandal the two journalist and everyone covering the story had lots of ups and downs, and some people who doubted them and were on their butts.

All the President's men did a great job of showing it's audience how the Watergate Scandal coverage by the Washington post used freedom of the press.

"The Washington Post’s Watergate coverage proves that a free press is one of the basic essentials of a democratic society. It is a necessary check on the power of the government. It proves the validity of Abraham Lincoln’s description of “government of the people, by the people, for the people.”" ("Watergate and Washington Post",2)
